Mental Health Services
Dave Vinson, Director
Mental Health Services helps people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who are also diagnosed with Mental Illness learn skills that enable them to experience a safe and satisfying life in the community. Enhancing social skills, learning to manage anger and building relationships are frequently addressed, although individuals select their own Treatment Plan Goals. These services are funded through Medicaid rather than the Medicaid Waiver Program. People who are not on the waiver are eligible to participate. Those who are on the Medicaid Waiver also can have access to these services without diminishing allocated funding.
Mental Health Services available are the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program and Individual and Group Therapies. Services are available weekdays, with the durations of sessions based on individual needs. Coordination is done with Adult Day Training, Residential, Behavioral and other services provided by The Arc of the St. Johns to ensure that a comprehensive and cohesive support network is in place for each individual.
